Welcome to 2024!
Some exciting news for the start of 2024 is that we have Rachel in post as our new Client Services Manager. Rachel joins Sam, who started last year as admin assistant.
From Rachel: “I am so excited to join the team and my transition from volunteer English coach to Client Services Manager has been a big jump. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who work so hard and who have been really supportive of my new start. I really am grateful for all the hours you put in and for all the experience and advice you can offer. It is so nice to be working with such a dedicated and caring group of people and I am astounded at the vast amount of skills and experience you have and the compassion you bring”.
This year has already started as a busy one and we are recruiting for two extra caseworkers to help with the increasing numbers of clients and complexity of cases. To this end, we have a stall at the Volunteer Recruitment Fair at Cascades Shopping Centre on 28th February, where we hope to showcase our work and inspire new volunteers.
Friends Without Borders (Portsmouth) has a wonderful new logo and Sam has been working hard to update our new-look website. Many thanks Sam. Upcoming events at our Thursday drop-in will include partnership working with Spa 61 to celebrate International Women’s Day, for us it will be 7th March, when we will be offering hand and nail massages.
