 We're delighted to announce that Haslar Visitors Group is amongst a shortlist of 20 projects who have applied for a Community Cash Award, funded by the Big Lottery. The deciding factor in who receives funds is a public vote and voting occurs via the mechanism of The News newspaper.
We've applied for £16,000, which will guarantee our services for the forthcoming year and enable us to offer legal advice in the face of heavy cuts to legal aid by the Government (we are applying for OISC registration). Our clients are very vulnerable, sadly often destitute and in many cases, we are the only people they can turn to for support. 20 projects were all listed in the Monday 16th September edition of The News on pages 8 and 9. Then, there is a coupon which you fill in to vote for your favourite project on page 34 (see image). Voting remains open for a fortnight and there are coupons in The News every day for a fortnight. There is no limit on the number of coupons you can fill in. If you use Facebook, Twitter, please spread the word and ask others to get a copy of The News and vote for us!!! PLEASE!!! We do hope that you will all rush off to buy lots of copies of the paper and send in your voting slips! |
